The PNL leadership had previously urged Bode to resign, citing a resolution approved by the PNL Extraordinary Congress. This resolution, passed on Sunday, accused Bode and several others, including Bogdan, Veștea, Thuma, and Gorghiu, of violating party obligations and acting against PNL's interests. The Congress held Bode politically accountable for the party's severe financial situation, which reportedly arose at the end of his tenure as General Secretary. A tenure marked by controversy.
Bode criticized the direction in which the PNL is heading. He particularly condemned its 'new vision' that he claims relies on ultimatums and the threat of exclusion. Additionally, all expenses related to the 2024 campaign were known and accepted by the party teams.
