This plan comes amidst intensified seismic movements and ground uplift in the region, which is Europe's most closely monitored volcanic system.
Campi Flegrei, characterized by multiple volcanic centers rather than a single crater, has seen a rise in seismic activity over recent years. In late July, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake resulted in more than 20 injuries and structural damage to buildings. The current alert level for the area is yellow, indicating a need for vigilance, though no immediate evacuation is necessary. Specialists continue their assessments.
Ground surface in the region has been rising by approximately one centimeter each month since February. Specialists monitor this phenomenon closely. While volcanologists cannot predict the exact timing or location of a potential eruption, they emphasize that the absence of visible signals does not equate to inactivity within the volcanic system. The threat remains real.

The evacuation plan is designed to be executed within 72 hours. The first 12 hours are allocated for preparation, followed by 48 hours for the evacuation process, and an additional 12 hours reserved for ensuring safety.
