Oradea dominates Sibiu with a 113-88 victory at home

CSM CSU Raiffeisen Oradea clinched a commanding 113-88 win over CSU Sibiu at the Oradea Arena on Wednesday evening. This marked Oradea's first home pre-season game with a complete roster, highlighting their formidable strength and depth.

Coach Mikko Riipinen returned from his role with the Swedish national team, while Daniel Akin and Tudor Fometescu rejoined the squad, having represented Great Britain and recovered from health issues, respectively. Their presence strengthened Oradea's lineup, contributing to the team's dominant performance.

Oradea surged ahead early, closing the first quarter with a 30-19 lead and widening the gap to 57-39 by halftime. Despite a brief rally from Sibiu, Oradea maintained control, leading 78-67 after the third quarter.

Josh Jefferson played a key role, scoring the team's 100th point and tallying 15 points with 8 assists. Rolland Török led the scoring for Oradea with 19 points, while David Nichols added 17 points and 5 assists. Noteworthy contributions also came from Bodie Hume and Quincy Guerrier, each with 15 points, and Kris Richard, who chipped in 14 points and 6 assists.

The team's cooperation was evident as six players scored 14 or more points. Oradea showed impressive teamwork with 26 assists and an outstanding 19 three-pointers, nearly half of their attempts.

On the opposing side, Anthony Randolph of CSU Sibiu stood out, leading his team with 18 points and 5 assists.

This victory marks Oradea's third consecutive win in the pre-season. They are scheduled to play next on Friday at 18:00 at the Oradea Arena, facing Szolnok Olajbányász, the Hungarian vice-champion, in the Antonio Alexe Memorial tournament. Spectators can enjoy free access to this upcoming game.
