University of Oradea kicks off 'Freshmen Week' for newcomers

The University of Oradea welcomes incoming students with the fifth annual 'Freshmen Week,' from September 28 to October 1. Organized by the Oradea Students' Union, this event is designed to help new students transition smoothly into university life through academic and social activities.

The week offers a thorough introduction to student life. Academic sessions will address key topics like course offerings, the credit system, and other essentials of academic life. Freshmen will also meet older students, who will provide guidance and practical advice.

Social events also is central to 'Freshmen Week,' encouraging students to form connections. Activities include challenges, team-building exercises, a treasure hunt, and a game of beer pong. The week concludes with a celebratory party, marking the end of the orientation period.

Amelia Varga, President of the Oradea Students' Union, expressed her excitement about the event, saying, "We want to be involved in the perfect initiation for our new students." Her leadership highlights the importance of a supportive start to university life.

Participation in 'Freshmen Week' has steadily increased, with more new students enrolling online via the Oradea Experience, Săptămâna Bobocilor 2026 platform. Older students will act as guides, assisting their new peers in navigating the beginning of their academic journey.
