Goran Bregović electrifies Oradea with dynamic concert

On Saturday evening, Oradea Arena came alive as thousands of fans danced and applauded to the dynamic rhythms of Goran Bregović and his Wedding and Funeral Orchestra. Organized by Underwave, the concert marked Bregović's return to Oradea after an 18-year hiatus, his last appearance being at the Toamna Orădeană festival in September 2008.

The evening began with an engaging twist as musicians entered through the audience, setting a active tone. This immersive experience continued as the orchestra played amidst the crowd, blurring the lines between performer and spectator. Following the encore, the Wedding and Funeral Orchestra delighted the audience with an additional 20-minute performance among them, improving the interactive atmosphere.

Bregović opened with newer pieces like "God is not Your Babysitter," before diving into fan favorites. Classics such as "Ederlezi," "Mesečina," "Gas Gas," and "Bella Ciao" had the audience singing and dancing with vigor. The highlight was the performance of "Kalašnjikov," which brought the crowd to their feet.

In a spontaneous gesture, spectators showed their appreciation by placing banknotes on the musicians' instruments, adding to the night's festive mood. Bregović encapsulated the event's essence, saying, "Oh, it will be crazy! If you don’t go crazy, you’re not normal," capturing the active energy that filled the arena.
