Bacalaureat 2026 Results: 74.8% Pass Rate, 45 Perfect Scores
The Ministry of Education released the Bacalaureat 2026 results, showing a 74.8% pass rate. 94,345 candidates passed the exams, including 45 with perfect scores. Bucharest led with 12 perfect scores. Appeals can be filed until July 9. Final results are due on July 13.
The Ministry of Education has announced the initial results for the Bacalaureat 2026 examinations, revealing a pass rate of 74.8%. This marks a slight increase from last year's 74.3%. Out of 126,169 candidates who sat for the written exams, 94,345 have passed.
The current year's graduates achieved a promotion rate of 79.7%, with 90,263 candidates passing. Additionally, 4,082 candidates from previous promotions succeeded, though their pass rate stood at 31.7%. Among the successful candidates, 45 earned perfect scores, a significant rise from 23 last year before appeals.
Bucharest recorded the highest number of perfect scores, with 12 students achieving the top mark. Cluj county followed with 4 perfect scores, while Iași county had 3. Several other counties, including Suceava, Bacău, and Hunedoara, each reported 2 perfect scores.
In terms of subject performance, 454 candidates scored perfectly in Romanian Language and Literature, while 34 achieved the same in their Mother Tongue. The compulsory profile exam saw 3,548 perfect scores, with Mathematics and History contributing 2,289 and 1,259 perfect scores, respectively.
Optional profile exams also saw high achievements, particularly in Logic, which had 848 perfect scores, followed by Biology with 679 and Chemistry with 531. However, subjects like Psychology, Economics, and Sociology had fewer top scores.
The Ministry noted that 16,217 candidates scored between 9.00 and 9.49, and 21.63% of candidates scored between 8.00 and 8.99 in Romanian Language. The compulsory profile exam had a 2.93% rate of perfect scores, while 30.15% of candidates scored between 9.00 and 9.99 in optional profile exams.
4,685 candidates were absent from the exams, and 67 were eliminated for breaching regulations. These eliminated candidates are barred from the next two Bacalaureat sessions.
Students wishing to appeal their results can do so from July 7 to July 9. During this period, they may also request to view their exam papers, though this is not a prerequisite for filing an appeal. It's important to note that grades may increase or decrease following re-evaluation.
The final results for Bacalaureat 2026 will be published on July 13.
