Anastasiia Berezovska, a Ukrainian woman suspected of involvement in a bombing in Monaco, was found dead near Kyiv, according to a report by Ukrainska Pravda on Tuesday. Ukrainian prosecutors confirmed that her body was discovered and have detained an employee of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR), who admitted to the killing alongside another suspect.
The incident traces back to June 30, 2026, when an explosion occurred at a residential building in Monaco. Police and experts have been investigating the site. Berezovska was suspected of attempting to murder businessman Vadym Yermolaiev. The attack left Yermolaiev, his partner, and his son wounded.
Berezovska, 39, had been named as the chief suspect in an Interpol Red Notice, wanted for attempted murder, the use of an explosive device, and criminal conspiracy. She spoke German. She had fled Monaco on foot, subsequently traveling by car through Italy and other countries to reach Germany.
Vadym Yermolaiev, who became a Cypriot national in 2019, was placed under Ukrainian sanctions in 2023 due to his business activities in Russian-occupied Crimea. Two suspects detained. Ukrainian authorities have arrested an officer from the Main Directorate of Intelligence and a former law enforcement officer related to the case.
The investigation continues as authorities piece together the events leading to Berezovska's death and the broader implications of the Monaco bombing.
