Sălaj Police Crack Down on Traffic Violations

Sălaj County Police conducted an extensive traffic enforcement campaign from August 28 to 30, 2026, aiming to improve road safety and reduce accidents. The operation focused on identifying drivers under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances. During the operation, 624 individuals were identified, and 582 vehicles were stopped for inspection.

Out of the drivers tested, 214 were specifically checked for alcohol and psychoactive substances. Police found three drivers with an alcohol level exceeding 0.40 mg/l in their breath. Three others faced sanctions. Their alcohol levels registered below 0.40 mg/l, but they still violated legal limits for operating a vehicle safely on public roads. All drivers found under the influence had their licenses suspended.

A significant enforcement action. In total, 15 licenses and 22 registration certificates were retained due to various traffic infractions. The police issued 321 contraventional sanctions, amounting to a total value of 114,002 lei.
