PNL distances itself from Veștea's government program

Adrian Veștea submitted his government program and a list of proposed ministers to Parliament on Sunday. The National Liberal Party (PNL) quickly declared that it bears no political responsibility for Veștea's government, emphasizing that the individuals nominated for ministerial positions are not part of their party. The PNL's position was reconfirmed by both the party Congress and its new leadership on the same day.

The PNL has stated that it does not support any government that includes or is backed by the Social Democratic Party (PSD). The party requested that media outlets refrain from presenting Veștea's government as affiliated with the PNL or attributing responsibility for the proposals to them. A clear boundary. Despite this distancing, the PNL assured that it will continue to act responsibly in Parliament, supporting reforms, the absorption of EU funds, and Romania's development.

Adrian Veștea's ministerial proposals included Alina Gorghiu as Deputy Prime Minister, Monica Anisie as Education Minister, Eduard Mititelu as Digitalization Minister, Sorin Cîmpeanu as Defense Minister, and Cristian Pistol as Transport Minister. The PNL made it clear these nominations were not discussed, approved, or supported by the party.

During its Extraordinary Congress on Sunday, the PNL adopted a resolution stating that any party members joining a PSD-backed government would face exclusion. This resolution highlight the PNL's firm stance against collaboration with the PSD, highlighting the party's unwavering commitment to maintaining its political integrity and independence in the current parliamentary field.
