The 'E-Sănătatea Mea' platform, launched by the National Health Insurance House (CNAS) on September 1st, aimed to simplify healthcare access for Romanian patients. However, the platform encountered significant technical issues from its first day of operation. Users reported difficulties with authentication and registration, leading to widespread frustration.
Adevărul newspaper conducted an experiment to test the platform's functionality, but it failed at the ROeID identity verification stage. The platform's website initially suffered from server errors. This made it inaccessible to many users. Reddit users identified specific registration problems, with one noting a 'Cloudflare proxy error 502 bad gateway.'
The platform promised a centralized digital health wallet, described by CNAS President Horațiu-Remus Moldovan as a tool as simple to use as WhatsApp. Moldovan claimed the platform could cater to 20 million potential users. It offers a single access point for patients to consult medical histories and view settlements.
Despite these promises, users encountered issues such as biometric verification errors and incomplete medical histories. Some found themselves stuck in password change loops during login attempts.
The platform features 12 modules, including 'My Package' for patient medical history, a medical prescriptions history module, and 'My Status' for patient settlements and medical services. It also introduces digital medical forms and allows patients to receive digital referrals from family doctors, which specialist doctors access via the new SIUI system. Additionally, a user reported that only 11 healthcare providers from Bihor county were enrolled on the platform. Patients can schedule doctor appointments based on these referrals, with search options filtering by specialty, county, and locality.
However, the technical setbacks have overshadowed these functionalities. Users are questioning the platform's reliability.
