Minister of Labor Dragoș Pîslaru has called for detailed explanations from ITM Bihor after the agency imposed a substantial fine of 1 million lei on Asociația Dumbrava DPG. The fine followed inspections that revealed 36 individuals were working without employment contracts at various properties in Bihor County.
The investigation, initiated at the request of DIICOT, took place on June 30 and focused on employment contracts, working hours, salaries, and safety conditions. ITM Bihor conducted checks across 18 locations. They reported their findings to the Labor Inspection on July 1. The labor inspectors also notified criminal prosecution bodies regarding the employment of more than five illegal workers.
Minister Pîslaru has asked Mihai Ucă, the head of the Labor Inspection, for a copy of the official report and a justification for the fine. A thorough report was also requested. Additionally, the minister demanded details on similar inspections conducted since 2014, including the methods, outcomes, and solutions implemented.
The public was informed of the fine by lawyer Răzvan Doseanu on Tuesday evening. Doseanu also mentioned that assets belonging to Viorel Pașca's family had been seized. On Wednesday morning, BIHOREANUL sought further explanations from ITM Bihor, but Deputy Chief Inspector Eugen Cîrmaciu declined to provide immediate comments, requesting a formal written inquiry instead. Standard procedure, apparently.
DIICOT is currently investigating Asociația Dumbrava DPG for alleged exploitation of vulnerable individuals. As a result of the raids on the association's facilities, over 400 people have been evacuated and relocated.
