Bolojan Gains Trust, PNL Surges in Latest Poll

Ilie Bolojan has emerged as a significant figure in Romanian politics, securing second place in public trust rankings according to a recent Poll/Int Romania survey. The poll, conducted from June 30 to July 3, 2026, surveyed 1,774 individuals across the country. Bolojan's trust rating places him just behind George Simion, the AUR leader, who holds the top spot with 35% trust.

Nicușor Dan, the President, maintains a trust level of 24.2%, securing third place, while Dominic Fritz of USR and Oana Gheorghiu follow with 20.1% and 17.7% respectively. Sorin Grindeanu, the PSD president, is ranked eighth with a trust level of 14.1%, which has remained stagnant.

The survey, which used a combination of phone and online interviews, revealed a notable increase in voting intentions for the National Liberal Party (PNL), which has climbed to 22.4%, an increase of 8.2 percentage points since April. This surge has propelled PNL to second place in parliamentary election intentions, behind AUR, which leads with 36.4%. The PSD has dropped to third place with 17.9%.

Bolojan enjoys significant support from USR and PNL voters, with 90.5% and 77.4% respectively. However, he faces distrust from PSD and AUR supporters. Nicușor Dan, while maintaining his trust level, receives mixed support: 54.7% from PNL, 41.1% from USR, and 36.4% from PSD voters.

The political crisis, which led to the fall of the Bolojan Government, has left many Romanians blaming various actors. According to the poll, 21.7% blame PSD, 21.4% blame all parties equally, and 15.7% point to Bolojan himself. Meanwhile, 33.7% of respondents believe President Dan acted without a plan during the crisis.

As for resolving the political turmoil, 33.2% of respondents support early elections as the best solution, while 11.3% favor a technocratic government. The survey's margin of error is 2.8%, providing a thorough overview of current public opinion in Romania.
